Yesterday when I was putting together my 'hood happenings post, I realized a slew of new restaurants had opened in the 'hood. So many that I needed an additional post. After months of being bored with the dining scene, I'm excited to discover these new places.
Lemon bars remind me of summer time and cook outs. My parents were in town for a quick visit and I thought these would be the perfect finish to an evening on the roof top. I add lime juice to my version to add more depth to the citrus flavor. They're a perfect mix of sweet and tart. Enjoy!
Hogo, the new bar from Tom Brown of The Passenger, is a lively place. The focus is rum cocktails and the food and chefs revolve each month to showcase chef talent.
Yesterday was the first day of Spring but it doesn't feel like it in DC. Today, the high is 39 (!) and next week we're supposed to have snow. So much for Spring. On the other hand, it's perfect weather for stew. My husband makes this all winter and it's delectable. I love his version because it's full of veggies and flavorful. Enjoy!
