Lately, I love holiday weekends. I used to stay in DC and feel obligated to work. Except nobody else is in DC. This weekend is summer's last hurrah and people are taking advantage of the three day weekend by escaping.
I'm always excited to get out of DC when it's hot and sticky. I love DC but August in DC stinks. Literally. Although we did have a great stretch of weather last week and weekend, by mid week it was disgusting once again. Hot concrete and the smell of sewage make me gag.
So I'm off on an adventure. I'm going to try stand up paddle boarding for the first time. I'm going to get a massage. I'm going to sit outside and have a million cocktails. I'm going to eat good food and inhale clean air. I can't wait.

Your weekend sounds fabulous! I actually didn't bother to make many solid plans - which I kind of want, because sometimes long weekends are great for just unplugging and vegging out at home. :)

SUP was amazing. I had a perfect day and the scenery was beautiful. Massage after was key to being able to move the next day. I'll be sad to come back to DC! Hope you had a fab weekend.
