Are you dressing up this weekend?

I love Halloween.  It's one of my favorite nights of the year because I enjoy the creativity of the costumes.  My outfit is never particularly interesting.  This year I'm a devil which is easy but boring.  If you're more adventurous, check out the costumes above.

High Heel Race 2011

Last night, I attended the 25th High Heel Race on 17th St, NW.  It's a hilarious evening of drag queens in towering heels and wigs, jovial spectators and a three block sprint.  It kicks off Halloween in DC and it's a beloved tradition.  One of my friends lives on 17th St. and hosts an annual party.  We had a birds eye view of the festivities and it was a fantastic evening.  My favorite drag queens were the black and white swans made out of balloons.  They were spectacular!

Riveting Rooms

While I love my condo, elements (like my bathrooms) are starting to feel very 2005.  You know what I mean...large, square traventine tile.  Granite countertops.  Stainless fixtures. It's a lot nicer than most of the bathrooms I encounter when I look at property.  But I long to revamp them.

That's why I find this weeks "Riveting Room" so inspirational.  It's a light filled, sleek yet functional small space.  I am infatuated with the tile and the floating sink.  It's perfect.
